On the occasion of World Volunteer Day, the Mother Teresa Foundation from Porumamilla village, Kadapa District, honored MP Anandan, the Founder of Chaitanya Service Society, with the prestigious Mother Teresa Seva Ratna Award for his relentless dedication and service to society.
Over the past 22 years, MP Anandan has faced numerous challenges, viewing society as a temple and its people as deities, dedicating his life to their welfare. The Mother Teresa Foundation recognized his exceptional contributions and achievements, presenting the award through the hands of Andhra Pradesh Food Commission Chairman, Chitta Vijay Pratap Reddy, during a grand ceremony.
Transformative Journey of Service
Founded in 2002, Chaitanya Service Society has been instrumental in uplifting rural communities by conducting programs focusing on education, healthcare, environmental awareness, and rural development. The society has also championed women’s empowerment, helping create a more inclusive and equitable society.
In 2009, MP Anandan established the Chaitanya Children’s Orphanage and Rehabilitation Center, starting with just five children. Today, it supports 450 children, many of whom have successfully transitioned into independent lives. Through its Muththu English Medium School, the organization provides free, high-quality education to orphans and underprivileged children.
Additionally, the society runs the Ananda Old Age Home, offering shelter and care to destitute elderly individuals. Apart from providing basic necessities, the organization even handles their final rites with dignity, filling their lives with happiness and respect.
Currently, Chaitanya Service Society supports 90 students and 10 elderly individuals, providing comprehensive care encompassing education, healthcare, and shelter. Despite operating without any financial aid from state or central governments, the organization has profoundly impacted countless lives, becoming an inspiring example of selfless service.
Acceptance Speech
Receiving the award, MP Anandan expressed his gratitude, saying, “This recognition enhances my responsibility towards society.” He extended heartfelt thanks to Chitta Vijay Pratap Reddy, Chitta Ravi Prakash Reddy, Chitta Giri Praneeth Reddy, and the Mother Teresa Foundation’s management and staff for the honor.
Legacy of Inspiration
MP Anandan’s unwavering commitment and tireless efforts have lit up the lives of many underprivileged individuals. The Mother Teresa Seva Ratna Award is a fitting recognition of his enduring dedication to social service and his mission to create a better society.
