Precious Childhood – A Motivational Visit by Dr. Annamareddy Chamundeshwari

“Just as sculptures are shaped only when carved, and diamonds shine only when polished.”
These were the inspiring words shared by Dr. Annamareddy Chamundeshwari from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, during her visit to Muthu English Medium School, run by the Manachaitanya Voluntary Organization.

During her interaction with the children, Dr. Chamundeshwari highlighted the value of childhood, calling it one of the most precious stages of life. She emphasized that “a sapling bends easily, but once it turns into a tree, it cannot be bent”, advising students to cultivate good habits, noble behavior, and strong moral values from an early age to become ideal future citizens of India.

She encouraged them to approach every task with full concentration, assuring them that focused efforts always yield good results. Sharing her personal practice, she said that even today, on every Guru Pournami, she recites the Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwara sloka, sends greetings to all her teachers, and seeks their blessings. She credited her teachers for helping her reach her current position and advised the children to love, respect, and adore their teachers, learn good things from them, and grow into successful individuals.

Dr. G.V.S. Babu, Administrative Director of the organization, spoke about the 23-year-long service of Manachaitanya Voluntary Organization in supporting orphaned children, the elderly, women in need, and out-of-school children. He mentioned that the organization functions solely through the support of kind donors. He expressed happiness at the visit of such distinguished guests and hoped that through them, the service activities of the organization will reach more people and contribute to its all-round development.

A. Kavitha Rani, General Secretary, stated that in today’s society, where women often face discrimination and prejudice, dignified and accomplished individuals like Dr. Chamundeshwari serve as role models. She expressed that the visit was deeply inspiring for the children.

Later, Founder-President Sri M.P. Anandan and Treasurer Girijammal felicitated Dr. Chamundeshwari with a shawl and presented her with a memento on behalf of the organization.

The event was attended by the teachers and staff of Muthu English Medium School, residents and staff of Anandashram Old Age Home, along with other members of the organization.
