The 198th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm under the leadership of MP Anandan, President of Chaitanya Voluntary Service Organization. The event took place at the Muthu English Medium School campus.

The tribute ceremony was attended by Treasurer Patnam Girijamma, General Secretary A. Kavitha Rani, Admin Director Dr. G.V.S. Babu, teachers and students of Muthu English Medium School, and the elderly residents of Anand Old Age Home. Together, they paid floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Phule.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Anandan reminded the gathering that Mahatma Jyotirao Phule dedicated his life to eradicating untouchability, the caste system, and promoting women’s education and empowerment. He urged everyone to walk in the footsteps of this great reformer and continue his mission for social justice and equality.

Admin Director Dr. G.V.S. Babu, in his address, stated that Mahatma Phule was a visionary who believed that societal transformation begins with women’s education. He shared an inspiring anecdote of how Mahatma Phule educated his wife, Savitribai Phule, and together they laid the foundation for 56 schools in her name, pioneering women’s education in India.

As part of the celebration, children paid homage to Mahatma Phule through songs and speeches, making the event both emotional and enlightening.
