International Human Rights Day Celebrations

International Human Rights Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Muththu English Medium School, run by Chaitanya Service Society.

The event was graced by the presence of the Society’s Founder and President, CMP Anandan, as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the role of the Human Rights Commission in addressing violations of human rights, particularly when solutions are not found locally or at the state level.

Dr. G.V.S. Babu, the Administration Director, emphasized that along with rights, individuals must responsibly fulfill their duties. He urged students to adopt responsibility from a young age and live harmoniously in society. He also elaborated on Articles 23 and 24 of the Indian Constitution, which safeguard against exploitation, and encouraged children to cultivate discipline, good behavior, and moral values to contribute towards a just society.

The Society’s General Secretary, Mrs. Kavitha Rani, spoke passionately about the essence of human rights, stating that the fight begins wherever people are denied their basic rights or equality is not upheld. She urged everyone to exercise their rights responsibly, preserve the values of the Indian Constitution, and learn from history to create a brighter future.

The event also saw active participation from the school’s Headmistress, Mrs. Patnam Girijammal, along with the teaching staff, including Reddy Prasanna, Janardhan, and Gausia Begum. Staff members from the Ananda Old Age Home also took part in the celebrations, making the occasion more inclusive and meaningful.

The day concluded with a pledge to uphold human rights and work towards building an equitable society.
